The Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Binta Adamu Bello, OON, has emphasized that massive youth enlightenment and sustained advocacy remain some of the most effective tools in combating human trafficking and violence against persons across Nigeria.

She made this known in Abuja while receiving a delegation from the Arewa Youth Forum (AYF), led by its National President, Ahmed Muhammad Zagi, during a courtesy visit to the Agency’s headquarters.

In her remarks, the NAPTIP DG commended AYF for its commitment to youth development and social protection, noting that the Agency is ready to collaborate closely with the Forum. She stressed that empowering young people with accurate information is critical in shielding them from the deceptive tactics used by human traffickers.

According to her, strengthening grassroots advocacy, especially in vulnerable communities, will significantly contribute to reducing trafficking incidents and building safer environments for Nigerian youths.
